TYCOR®, our fiber reinforced composite core material has been engineered for lighter weight, corrosion resistance, high strength, stiffness, and durability. Able to produce robust sandwich solutions with excellent mechanical fastening impact properties, TYCOR is especially suited to the stringent quality and performance requirements of defense as well as aerospace applications. TYCOR is currently used in composite military shelters and cargo shipping containers, and undergoing qualification testing for jet engine containment cases, aircraft secondary structures, blast and ballistic structures.

This year TYCOR technology was selected by NASA’s Advanced Composites Technologies (ACT) Project of the Exploration Technology Development Program (ETDP) as one of two final candidates for the acreage panel structure of a novel “beamless” core inter-tank structure design for heavy lift vehicles. ETDP develops new technologies that will enable NASA to reduce the cost and risk involved with future human space flight missions. Our TYCOR technology has also been selected by the Air Force for development of their next-generation rapid-assembly, energy-efficient transportable composite shelters.
