Other Advantages
Strength
TYCOR® core provides excellent compression and shear properties, as the fiber architecture has been
engineered in such a way as to optimize mechanical properties.
Fatigue behavior of TYCOR core is similar to end-grain balsa, which is considered an excellent dynamic strength core material.

Weight
TYCOR core offers excellent strength to weight performance, providing the true benefits of sandwich construction.
Laboratory comparison made by fabricator:
Two sample panels, 12" X 12", 1.25" thick core, comparable properties, two plies of 1708 glass fabric on each side.

Toughness
TYCOR core has excellent damage tolerance properties. Extensive testing has been performed comparing TYCOR core to other core materials.

Finished Part Cost
Significant cost savings can be achieved by using TYCOR core and the WebCore Infusion Process (WIP) due to TYCOR core's competitive
price, the reduced need of vacuum infusion consumables, and lower waste.
Comparison of final part cost on a 34-foot boat hull is shown below. Comparison was performed by a boat manufacturer
evaluating hull infusion with balsa versus TYCOR core.
